“Scrappy Quilt-As-You-Go” is not a new technique, but one that you might find interesting and useful. This lesson will show you how to easily make a quilted, reversible quilt for those last-minute gifts and projects. This is a great way to use some of those scraps and other pieces hiding in your sewing room!
Providing an opportunity and space to join with others in engaging in quilting are popular retreats offered at Manna House of Prayer in the fall and winter months. Quilting can be a contemplative activity as well as one in which retreatants enjoy the camaraderie of fellow quilters and an opportunity to learn the quilting basics or new skills from those more experienced.
Quilters will need to bring their own sewing machines and materials. When you choose which weekend(s) you would like to attend you will be sent further directions and a list of materials needed for the weekend.
Sister Betty Suther is the facilitator of the quilting retreats. She is a proficient quilter who has been quilting for many years and has made hundreds of quilts and quilting projects.
Cost is $45 registration. Room and meals $210.
