Presenter: Daniel R. DiLeo, PhD
July 13–16, 2023
Climate change is a moral issue that implicates the Church’s mission and core commitments of Catholic social teaching. Pope Francis has urged persons and communities to “start a revolution” of encounter and action that will prevent accelerating climate catastrophe. These actions include internal “ecological conversion” and advocating for systemic policies, especially institutional commitments to reach net zero carbon. Dr. DiLeo will provide theological reflections on these topics and provide concrete steps to engage Catholic leaders for institutional net zero commitments. The Institute will be held at the Nazareth Motherhouse. Thursday, 5:00 p.m. – Sunday, 1:00 p.m. Participants can register for in-person or Zoom participation. Cost: $350 in-person, $250 via Zoom.
