The Journey Continues: Life after Elected Leadership

This retreat is for leaders of religious institutes of women in the Roman Catholic Rite who know that they will not be renewing their term of office.
When it is clear to you that you will not be continuing in elected leadership, you are faced with the difficult task of doing the “last things” your work requires, as well as planning the next steps for your personal transition. What do I do next? Where shall I go? What have I learned about myself and my ministerial skills? What can I contribute? What do I need in order to make a new start?
These questions and more are often couched in ambiguity, anxiety, fatigue, dis- illusionment, and even “burn out.” How can you begin to make sense of it all?
Life After Elected Leadership is a retreat that offers four full days away from the daily demands of your ministry. You will have time and opportunity to gather your spiritual and physical resources in an integrating dynamic of honest search, learning, relaxation, and prayer. There will be opportunities for bodywork, communal reflection, and personal spiritual companioning.
