Falling in Love For a Lifetime
May 1-16, 2012
A fifteen day intensive of study and prayer for CSSJs who know that it’s all about-falling in love and staying in love; for CSSJs whose life experience has made active/inclusive love a habit and who want to renew their enthusiasm and zeal; for CSSJs who are puzzling over the meaning of their vocation in a time of ambivalence and multivalent opportunities for ministry; for CSSJs who feel “worn out” but want to rekindle their vision. It offers a compressed study of the origins, primitive documents and historical development and concludes with a six day retreat on the Eucharistic Letter. Brochures available.

Living a Mystical and Prophetic Tradition
July 1-16, 2012
Sisters of St. Joseph and their Associates are invited to explore together the ways that the charism of active and in- clusive love expresses the most intimate and liberating desires of the people of this time; how a deepening under- standing and lived experience of a life of contemplative action is one of mysticism and prophesy and how these gifts are to be shared with our contemporary culture. Together the group will explore the meaning and practical application of the mysticism and prophesy inherent in the CSSJ charism and mission. Brochures available.

Making Lace, Making Peace the healing contemplative practice of making bobbin lace.
July 28 – August 4, 2012
This retreat is designed to give individuals an experience of the practice of making bobbin lace in a contemplative setting. Lacemaking, as contemplative practice, creates in us heart-space where our communion with God and neighbor without distinction may be woven in our lives, as surely as the design of threads and spaces unfolds at our fingertips. We are healed as we encounter beauty, on our lace pillow, in our lives and in our spirits. No previous experience in lacemaking is required. Brochures available.

Retreatant making Bobbin Lace in a past retreat. The art, for the Sister of St. Joseph, dates back to the original sisters in the mid 1600′s as a way to afford their ministries to the poor and disenfranchised. Today, the contemplative dimension and the art unite the sister and associate with our founding sisters.
